Just months ago she was a virtual unknown, but now Freida Pinto has transformed into one of the most in-demand stars on the scene.
The Slumdog Millionaire actress is not only a darling in Hollywood, she has won over the fashion world too.
She features in a smouldering new shoot for the Indian addition of Vogue magazine, which brands her as a ’style icon’.
The 24-year-old cover girl looks every inch an A-list star as she lounges around in a diamonte confection and lashings of blood-red lipstick for the spread.

Modelling is familiar territory for Freida – she started out her career posing in advertisements for products including Wrigley’s Chewing Gum.
However her latest job was an altogether more glamorous affair.
The Vogue cover emerged just hours after it was revealed that Frieda is lined up to star in Woody Allen’s next film.
Allen moved quickly to secure the services of the 24-year-old actress, the latest in a long line of female muses featured in his films.
The former television presenter will star alongside Hollywood stars Josh Brolin, Naomi Watts and Anthony Hopkins in what will only be her second film.
Freida wowed the Oscars with her stunning red carpet style, and while in the US she spoke to morning news programme Today where she confirmed the news saying: ‘Yes it’s up in July. So thank you Danny Boyle for helping me take off’.
Filming will start in London this summer for Frieda and Naomi Watts after the two actresses were both cast in the new film hot on the heels of the success of Allen’s latest hit Vicky Cristina Barcelona.
Allen’s most recent muse, Penelope Cruz, won an Oscar on Sunday for best supporting actress for her role in Vicky Cristina Barcelona which also starred Scarlett Johansson, Rebecca Hall and Javier Bardem.
Freida hit the big time with her role in Slumdog Millionaire which won eight Oscars last weekend, including best picture and best director for Danny Boyle.
Set in her home town of Mumbai, the movie tells the story of a impoverished young love-struck orphan who beats the odds to win television show Who Wants to be a Millionaire? while recapturing his long-lost-love Latika played by Pinto.
Since being picked out of auditions by Slumdog director Danny Boyle when she was working on the modelling circuit, Pinto has wooed audiences worldwide as the film’s female lead.
Although she had done no acting before Slumdog, she was used to being in front of the camera.
She told Daily Mail columnist Baz Bamigbooye: ‘I used to anchor a travel show in India, which is clearly not acting, and I had done a little bit of modelling,’ she told me.
‘Both of those things helped me with the camera.
‘I always wanted to act in films, but in India it’s very difficult to become an actress if you haven’t got a godfather: someone with influence, always a man, in the industry to help get you into auditions.
‘But I didn’t need a godfather for Slumdog. I just went along, did the audition with Dev and then Danny picked me.
‘I have no idea whether acting is a future for me, but I would like to do more film work. The reaction to Slumdog has been beyond my wildest expectations.’
Life has also changed for her younger co-stars, including Azharuddin Mohammed Ismail and Rubina Ali, who received a rousing welcome as they returned home to Mumbai yesterday.
