Rihanna to launch Gucci campaign
Grammy Award-winning singer Rihanna and Gucci creative director Frida Giannini will light the Unicef Snowflake at the Grand Army Plaza in New York City tonight.
Rihanna is a global representative of the 2008 Gucci Campaign to benefit Unicef, which is set to launch worldwide tonight with the lighting of the Snowflake.
The Unicef Snowflake is the largest outdoor chandelier of its kind and it is 23 feet in diameter, over 28 feet in height and weighs 3,300 pounds.
It is also adorned with 16,000 Baccarat crystal prisms and has become a fixture during the Christmas holiday season to symbolise Unicef’s commitment to helping child poverty.
Rihanna and Giannini will flip the switch before hosting a private cocktail party in Gucci’s 5th Avenue flagship store to celebrate the launch of the white Heart Tattoo Collection
“I am blown away by what Unicef has been able to accomplish in Africa with the funds raised by Gucci,” Vogue.com quotes Rihanna as saying.
“I feel very fortunate to be part of this collaboration.”

I was at the show, so good…
